BORN TO MOVEâ„¢

 

BORN TO MOVEâ„¢ is a series of structured fitness classes for children between 2 and 16 years old designed by world leading fitness company Les Mills to inspire a love for movement and create positive physical habits for the next generation.

 

The classes include a combination of dance, martial arts, yoga and sports conditioning inspired movements. They also include great music and games to keep children engaged and entertained while they are developing their fitness skills. 

 

There are 5 different programmes for 5 different age groups, with age-appropriate music and choreography designed to meet the unique needs of each developmental stage.

 

Besides enjoying the health benefits of regular exercise, your child will be able to build social skills, self-esteem and gain confidence and be better able to handle physical and emotional challenges.

2-3 & 4-5 YEARS

An imaginative, explorative world of music and movement.

 

This class is tailored for two age groups: 2-3 year olds (where a parent or caregiver joins the fun) and 4-5 year olds. Children at this stage respond best to stories, so special music is written for the class with lyrics that act as sung instructions and children are led through simple moves that build body awareness and balance.

 

8-12 YEARS

A dynamic, games and movement experience

 

The teacher leads the class in a series of foundation fitness moves taken from dance, martial arts, plyometrics, sports training and yoga. Dance sequences become slightly more complex as the children get older and we introduce core training with body weight exercises.

6-7 YEARS

A world of playful movement, music and games

 

This class introduces fundamental movement skills as well as short dance choreographies. There are lots of repetitions and we build the choreography gradually week after week so children are able to follow. Children of this age are primarily visual learners so the instructor places emphasis on demonstrating moves they can easily follow.

13-16 YEARS

Expressive action and energy

 

This class draws from the disciplines of martial arts, hip hop, sports conditioning, plyometrics, dance and yoga, and is led by a trained instructor who can pick and mix from a constantly updated toolbox of tracks to keep things interesting.
